Behind the Lens

Determined to avoid the criminal lifestyle led by his late father, Dwight "Shooter" Elder decided to pick up a camera to shoot with instead of a gun. Elder left his hometown of Oakland, California to attend Clark Atlanta University. A natural optimist, Elder has based many of his life decisions on the quote "live in the moment." The artist would have the opportunity to do just that when he was hired by hip-hop superstar, Future as his personal assistant and photographer. He has photographed high-profile celebrities like Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Giorgio Armani, and his photos have been featured in major publications like Rolling Stone Magazine, Buzzfeed, and Complex. With a goal of enriching and uplifting the people around him, Elder is focused on becoming one of the greatest visual artists of his time and expanding his brand to encourage and inspire the world.
